THE FOURTEENTH STATION:
JESUS IS LAID IN THE TOMB
O Death Where is Your Sting?
Foxes Have their dens, the birds of the air a nest
the Son of Man had no where to lay his head to rest
born into a world that could not provide a room
in death a humble guest in someone else's tomb
He was a man of sorrows, rejected by his own
The servant of humanity, a king without a throne
When the Son of Man is lifted up he will draw all men to him
Destroy this temple and in three days he will raise it up again
We face the grave, which speaks a lie
There's no escape, and all must die
We have a hope, we will hold fast
Though sorrow seems to bind us, our grieving will not last
We are like weary travelers in a hostile land
We face tomorrows of uncertainty that we can not command
A paradox we carry as our comfort and our joy
It is in dying that we live, and we can never be destroyed
When the grain of wheat falls and is buried in the earth
it holds the promise of abundance as it waits for a rebirth
Chorus
The God of love is in control
Run to His arms, He will console
The night will pass, and we will sing
O grave where is your victory?
O death where is your sting?
